Cornwall is England?s most south-westerly county and forms the peninsular running down to Lands End. It?s neighbouring county is Devon at the top of the peninsular. Cornwall has a strong cultural identity and has seen a revival of the Cornish language. Though less than 1% of it?s people speak the language it is taught in a number of schools and is still used in a number of ceremonies. There has also been a movement for self-rule.
The city of Truro is the only city in Cornwall and is the county town. Not many people know that the Isles of Scilly are part of Cornwall despite being nearly 30 miles offshore. The county has a low density of population at just over half a million residents, not much more than may UK cities, despite covering an area of nearly 1400 sq miles.
